Muscat: Young Omani swimmer Hussain Taha won three gold medals thanks to his phenomenal showing at the Middle East Open & Junior Swimming Championship. Held at Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Taha showed the fastest results in his age group in the 200 metre and 100 metre breaststroke, and the 400 metre individual medley.

Nautilus swim captain secures scholarship to study in the US

Muscat: A talented young swimmer at Nautilus Swimming Club has secured a scholarship to study at Kenyon College in the United States, where he has been admitted under the institute’s sports criteria.
Mirjavohir Marvarov secured admission at Kenyon thanks to a placement programme run by Nautilus to help talented swimmers earn scholarships to pursue their higher education overseas, providing them an excellent platform to thrive in their chosen careers. The academic initiative run by Nautilus makes them the first swim academy in Oman to provide its young athletes a pathway to tertiary education.

Nautilus raises over OMR6,000 for Children First Association

Muscat: Nautilus Volunteer Association has raised OMR6,263 for Children First Association as part of the first Nautilus Swimathon hosted at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on 20 November 2021.
Organised by the captain of Nautilus Swimming Club and President of the Nautilus Volunteer Association, Eva Bonde, it was the first-of-its-kind event in the Sultanate of Oman.

Mirjavohir Marvarov has announced that he will be coming to the United States this fall as a part of Kenyon College’s class of 2021.

Marvarov hails from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, but has been living and training in Muscat, Oman with the Nautilus Swimming Club.

He and his family have lived in Oman for the last 12 years, but are citizens of Uzbekistan.

Kenyon reports that he will have 3 years of eligibility for the Lords.

450 swimmers take part in Nautilus annual meet

MUSCAT: A total of 450 swimmers from Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE participated in Nautilus Club’s 3rd Annual Meet at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on November 1 and 2. Over 20 teams entered the competition which include the Oman national swimming team. Over 1,800 entries were registered in each race by individual swimmers. The meet was supported by the Oman Swimming Association whose referees judged the event with precision, following the Fina rules.

Swimming sensation loves to help cancer patients

Muscat: Six-year-old Dylan Williams has a passion for swimming and for helping others.

An ace swimmer, Dylan goes to Royal Flight School in Muscat. To sharpen his skills, he trains regularly with a local swimming club, Nautilus Swimming Club.

Motivated by an incident last year, Dylan decided to kick start an initiative to help children who suffered from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Nautilus Invitational Swim Meet, organised at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, attracted over 330 swimmers from all over the Sultanate, including members of the Oman National Team, Oman Swimming Association, ABA Vipers, Al Zaeem Team Sohar, BSM Marlins, Royal Flight School, and others.

Muscat: A Zoggs sponsored- Nautilus Invitational swim meet was recently held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.

In addition to the Nautilus team, there were 20 individual competitors and more than 9 different competitive swim teams, participating in the meet (including the Oman National team, Oman Swimming Association, Youth Training Centre-under the Ministry of Sports-, ABA Vipers, Al Batinah International School, BSM Marlins, Knowledge Gate International School swim team, and Sultan Sharks).
